How to install an eSIM

Three ways on iPhone and Android — it takes a minute. Install at home while you have Wi-Fi.

Before you start

  • Your phone supports eSIM and isn't locked to one carrier — check it.
  • You have a stable connection: Wi-Fi or mobile data.
  • Install the eSIM once — the QR code and activation code work one time only.

One tap (iOS 17.4 and newer)

  1. Open the order page or the e-mail on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Install on iPhone”.
  3. Confirm with “Continue” — the eSIM adds itself.
  4. Name it, say, “Tutu” — it makes switching easier.

QR code

  1. Open the QR code on another screen (computer, tablet).
  2. On the iPhone: Settings → Cellular (Mobile Data) → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
  3. Point the camera at the code and follow the prompts.

Manually

  1. Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code → Enter Details Manually.
  2. Copy the “SM-DP+ address” and the “Activation code” from the order page.

On the trip

  1. Turn on the Tutu eSIM and choose it for mobile data.
  2. Turn on Data Roaming for the Tutu eSIM — it's free, the price is already in the plan.
  3. Keep your main SIM for calls and texts, but turn off its mobile data so your carrier doesn't charge roaming.

If there's no internet

Check Data Roaming

It must be on for the Tutu eSIM.

Restart the phone

Or toggle Airplane mode — the phone looks for the network again.

Pick a network manually

Network settings → turn off “Automatic” and choose another operator from the list.

APN

It's usually set automatically. If not, message us and we'll give you the exact value.
